Chiari Malformation Awareness

Have you ever heard of Chiari Malformation? If you personally know me then you'll know that I'm a huge Chiari advocate since my daughter suffers from this incurable disorder. If you don't know me, then welcome, and thank you for taking this time to read this article!

In a nutshell:
Chiari Malformation also known as Arnold-Chiari Malformation, is a rare congenital malformation. There are 4 types but type 1 is the most common and happens to be the type that my daughter has. So here it goes ---> The back of the skull is a mismatch for the back portion of the brain called the cerebellum. Because the size of the lower skull can't accommodate the size of the cerebellum, the brain is forced out of the base of the skull and into the spinal canal. This causes pressure on the brain, brain stem, spinal cord and disrupts the natural flow of spinal fluid. You must be saying "Wow" at this point right? Wait because it gets better. This condition causes approximately 30 different symptoms.
.
Here are some of the symptoms:
Headache, Nausea, Vomiting, Neck Pain, Chest Pain, Difficulty Swallowing , Sleep Apnea, Dizziness, Nystagmus, Unsteady Gait, Chronic Fatigue, Memory Loss, Tachycardia, Shortness Of Breath, Insomnia, Weakness In Arms/Hands, Numbness & Tingling In Arms/Hands, Depression, Ringing In Ears and many more.

Although this disorder and many like it that are classified as CSF disorders (cerebro spinal fluid) are incurable, many organizations are working feverishly to find more treatment options. Please help!
